Cognac Gold

Bleaky Slim Cognac Gold Limited is a translucent special color with a transparent cognac and copper orange base, deep ruby red core and coarse gold and brass flake. The result is a warm small fish profile that maintains contrast in humus and low light but lights up with red and golden dot reflections when the bait turns.

Color profile

Ruby in the body – liquid copper on the edges

Cognac Gold is not a solid red jig and not your average brown root beer. The transparent base goes from clear amber and copper orange in the thin sections to burgundy and dark ruby where the material is thicker. This makes the silhouette look darker from a distance but glows warmly when side light passes through the body and paddle.

The large hexagonal flakes are primarily gold and brass. Some pieces appear olive green depending on the angle, while smaller dark elements break up the surface. This creates uneven, natural sparkles rather than a uniform cloud of glitter.

Body Transparent ruby red to burgundy core with darker depth in the thick parts.
Thin sections Clear cognac, amber and copper orange through neck, tailstock and paddle.
Flake Coarse gold and brass flake with olive green reflections and smaller dark elements.
01 Two-tone readability

The ruby body provides silhouette while the clear tail lets warm light through.

02 Point reflexes

The coarse gold flake flashes in separate pulses as the paddle works and the bait rolls.

03 Humus-friendly palette

Cognac, copper and red retain a warm expression in tea-colored water and over a dark background.

04 Fish or crayfish

The slim shape attracts small fish, but the color also fits nicely around rocks and crayfish habitat.

Water & light

When Cognac Gold comes into its own

  • Humus and tea-colored water The warm base harmonizes with the water color, while the ruby body and gold flakes provide clear focal points.
  • Cloudy, dawn and dusk When cold silver tones lose their appeal, Cognac Gold maintains a coherent dark silhouette with warm flashes.
  • Stone, gravel and crustacean environment Copper, red, gold and dark elements are close to the colors around the rocky bottom and moving crustaceans.
  • Dark bottom, piers and deep edges. The thick body turns deeper ruby red in low light and provides contrast close to the structure.
  • Clear water with wind or side light. The transparency keeps the color airy, while individual flakes light up when the bait changes angle.
Presentation

Four surefire ways to get started

  1. Straight reeling: fish just above the bottom or vegetation and choose the lowest speed that keeps the paddle moving.
  2. Stop-and-go: crank two to four turns and pause; the ruby body darkens in the case while the blade changes angle.
  3. Bottom contact: make short lifts over rocks and gravel, follow the line and be prepared to strike when the bait turns down.
  4. Vertical or pelagic: keep the bait close to the fish and work with small changes in height when the predatory fish does not want to chase far.
Rigging

One bait – several working methods

Mount the Bleaky Slim straight and let the hook leave the body before the thinnest tail section. This gives the paddle the freedom to start at low speed and continue working during falls, pauses and changes of direction.

  • All-round jig head for straight casting, stop-and-go and classic bottom fishing.
  • Cheburashka Freer articulated movement and clear fall around rocks, gravel and deep edges.
  • Offset / weedless For vegetation, rice and shallow bays where an open hook is likely to get stuck.
  • Drop shot Keeps the bait at the right level near piers, edges or fish on sonar.
  • Carolina rig Allows the transparent body to slide freely behind the weight during slow bottom searching.
  • Leaf bait trailer Sleek trailer for chatterbait or spinnerbait when you want to add warm color and gold flash.
2–4 g Shallow water, calm wind and fishing above vegetation.
5–7 g Good starting area for normal lake, river and canal fishing.
8–12 g More depth, wind, current or when bottom contact needs to be clear.
How to read color in reality

In shade and against a dark background the body appears deep ruby to burgundy. In direct sunlight, sidelight or shallow water the neck, edges and paddle shine a bright cognac and copper orange. The scales may flash gold, brass or olive green depending on the angle. No glow or UV effect is claimed.

Limited CNW batch

There are only a small number of bags of this particular casting. When the stock runs out, the batch is finished. The jigs are hand-cast in Sweden, so slight differences in glitter placement, color depth and finish may occur between the pieces.
