Cognac Ember – discreet profile, vibrant reflections
Cognac Ember is based on a semi-transparent champagne and smoke base with warm tones of honey, cognac and light brown. The body contains copper, orange and gold glitter particles along with sparse dark dots. The result is subdued at a distance and significantly more vibrant up close – a nice balance when the fish want something natural without the bait completely disappearing to the bottom.

The permeable base picks up color from the surroundings and creates a soft silhouette over sand, gravel, rock and darker bottoms.

Every twist and drop angle shifts the reflections between copper, orange and gold without creating a harsh metallic flash.

Color Tip: Start with Cognac Ember when the water is relatively clear and the fish are following without biting. The transparent body keeps the presentation natural, while the warm flakes help the fish lock their gaze on the bait.
How to fish NED-Stick
Let it sink
Cast past the target area and follow the line. Many hits will come during the first fall.
Shake lightly
Give short, gentle twitches with the rod tip without moving the bait far.
Drag & pause
Drag the bait a few centimeters above the bottom and let it stand completely still.
Lift & drop
A soft lift followed by a free sink makes the ribbed body play discreetly.

Weight guide for NED skull
2–3g
Shallow or calm. Slow fall and maximum time in the cutting zone.
3.5–5g
A good all-round range for normal depth, moderate wind and clear bottom contact.
7–10g
Deeper water, current or when you need to get down quickly and feel the bottom.
Rule of thumb: use the lightest weight that still allows you to feel contact. A slower fall often looks more natural, but too light a weight makes the presentation difficult to control.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cognac Ember the same color as Sangria?
No. Cognac Ember is significantly more transparent and has champagne, smoke, honey and warm cognac with copper/gold reflections. It lacks the clear burgundy overall impression of Sangria.
What species is the bait primarily made for?
The size and profile are particularly suitable for perch and zander. Other predatory fish can also take the bait when hunting small bottom-dwelling prey.
Does the paint work in murky water?
Yes, especially when the turbidity is moderate and the warm reflections can still catch light. In very dark or heavily turbid water, a more contrasting color can be easier for the fish to find.
Does it have to be fished on a NED skull?
No. NED skull is the natural first choice, but the shape also works nicely on Cheburashka, dropshot, Carolina, Texas, Neko or wacky rigs.
How long of a break should I take?
Start with two to five seconds. For cold water or sluggish fish, longer pauses may be more effective; for active fish, you can increase the pace.
