When the water is clear, the fish are stressed or the light is bright, too much color can be a warning sign. AC is built for the opposite: a darker, natural silhouette with a subtle sheen that is visible enough to be found – but not so much that wary fish back away.

This is how you fish it

  1. Let the bait land completely. The first few seconds on the bottom are often when a follower makes up their mind.
  2. Pull short, not long. AC does its job best when moved slowly and in a controlled manner.
  3. Pause longer than you want. With sluggish fish, stillness is often the trigger.
  4. Change the tempo first – not the color. If the fish is there but hesitant, extend the pause before changing the bait.

Color logic

In water, light and color gradually fade with depth, distance, and turbidity. Therefore, contrast, silhouette, and how the bait breaks the bottom are often more important than how the color “looks nice” in the hand.
